Warrington Guardian Article

The above article gives some info, heres a bit more,
I'm running the Flora London Marathon 2007 for the charity Children with leukaemia. I needed a challenge to get myself fit, and with the added incentive of maybe helping a child survive I new I would be able to tackle this challenge.
I've been training for the last six months, had a few injuries, mainly over Christmas, but up to now I weigh over a stone less and have lost 5 inches off my waist.
I'm running 4 to 5 days averaging 30 + miles a week.

If you can help me help leukaemic children I have a fundraising page here Phil Sextons fundraising page this also gives more details about the charity, also I have a training blog which can be accessed here My training blog

There are also donation sheets on the shop counters and we are holding a Charity Cheese and Wine Tasting fundraising evening on Wednesday 11th April commencing at 7pm within the shop, tickets £10 available instore, with all proceeds going to Children with Leukaemia, on the night we will have Julie from Oddbins and Jill from David South Cheese supporting the event.

Thanks for reading.
Phil

Good Luck Phil.

Count me in for a quid a mile.

Hope to have a few other names on the form over the next few days too!

I like the way you're running towards a cake in the photo. Nik says she thinks she could do it too - if I drive in front of her with a cake on a stick out of the window. tongue.gif

Good luck, Phil. I'll sponsor you.

Best of luck Phil! I know how difficult it is smile.gif

Quid a mile from me too!

I'm doing the NY marathon in November, but that's ages away so not started training yet.

All the best.

Any reason why this charity?

Thanks everyone, it was actually reading, and being moved by the charities story, that motivated me to undertake the challenge.

Well, I for one am glad that it is.

One of my cousins lost his daughter at age 10 to leukaemia, so it holds a special place for me.

Good on you, Phil.

Hi All
Just to keep you updated, 19 days to go until the Marathon, gulp!
Training has been going pretty well, completed my longest run so far on Sunday, 22 miles. Ran out to Knutsford, back through Tatton Park, down the lanes from Bucklow hill, turning right down to the Stamford (Home), down past the Swan with two nicks and out at Dunham Park, left through the Lanes past the Vine to the end, left past the Saracens Head, the Green Dragon and joined up with the Trans Pennine way and came off to come back through Lymm park 4 hours later.

Thanks to everyone for your support, sponsorship still greatfully received!
Cheese and Wine fundraising event Wednesday 11th April.

A Raffle also will also be underway this week at £1 per ticket prizes including the following

Thursday Cottage Gift Hamper

Suma Organic Gift Hamper

Club Captain Arjen Van De Zeeuw's Wigan Athletic Football shirt

signed by the Wigan team

Personalised Birthday Celebration cake by 'Bob' @ Sextons

All proceeds to Children with Leukaemia. Many thanks to all of the above for their kind donations to this charity
.

Thanks again for your kind donations smile.gif

Maybe that's why it took him 4 hours? (bloody bus service in Cheshire is rubbish on Sundays) tongue.gif

Keep it up PhilSeccy - you'll do it. clap.gif
